Meeting Information

 

Receptions

On Tuesday 26 October, starting at 17:30, delegates are invited to an German Government Reception on the Mark Brandenburg Ship, aboard which dinner will be served during a cruise.

On Wednesday 27 October from 18:00 all participants are invited to a PTB Reception at the PTB in Charlottenburg.

On Thursday 28 October the OIML is pleased to extend an invitation to a Reception at the Crown Estate of Bornstedt, near Potsdam.

Accompanying Persons are very welcome to attend all three receptions.



The Meetings

12th International Legal Metrology Conference

The Conference will approve the budget of the Organization for the four years to come, and will make key decisions on the orientation and strategy of the OIML over that period. More specifically, it will give consideration to the Financial Regulations, and decide on the most appropriate structure to take care of the needs of Developing Countries.


39th CIML Meeting

The CIML will elect a new President and First Vice-President in Berlin; this choice will condition the future policy of the Organization. Besides the regular business, the Committee will also take important decisions concerning the application of the Mutual Acceptance Arrangement, and approve a certain number of International Recommendations and Documents.


Forum: Metrology - Trade Facilitator: What is needed, what is offered

The forum will be opened by a representative of the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development followed by oral statements on the purpose of the event, the importance of a technical infrastructure for economic development and trade facilitation, specific requirements with regard to the Technical Barriers to Trade and the Sanitary and Phyto-sanitary Agreements of the WTO and a few selected examples. Supporters will explain how to benefit from their programs, resource persons will answer questions and there will be a Poster Session.


Development Council

The Development Council will review activities over the past year, and the new structure for assisting Developing Countries will be established.


MAA Round Table

During the Round Table on the Mutual Acceptance Arrangement (MAA), decisions to be submitted to the CIML for approval will be discussed - notably concerning the application of the Arrangement.
